Mid States 2012 Yellow Cards

For those of you at Mid States you know that there were a bunch of yellow cards that helped us network and meet new people. They had some relevant to Mid States information and some just fun camp info on them. I typed them all. They are on my website.

  1. I like a lot of these cards, most are quite useful and have good reminders or activities on them. But for now, my favorite is "dirt and worm" for many reasons. I love dirt cake and haven't had it in years, makes me feel like a kid! I hope I can convince the cook to maybe make some this summer.

  2. My favorite card is the campfire colors one. I like the idea of turning the campfire different colors! It is an idea that I had last summer for the Hogwarts Enchantment group but I couldn't remember what chemicals would turn the fire fun colors. I'm going to try and look for common items that would release the chemicals and turn the fire different colors when burned. For example, I know that burning a copper rod will turn a fire green. I liked the other cards too but the campfire colors one was my favorite.

  3. Make a Camper Feel Special is my favorite card because usually we do give individual jobs to the children, but we should make them feel really good about it. Especially if it is a kind of lame job or one that most others wouldn't volunteer for, we gotta make it seem like that's the definitely the one we'd do if we had the chance! Ha, that encourages them 'cause our girls look up to us.

  4. My favorite card would have to be the camp leadership card. I think that it is great to ask yourself those questions. I ask myself those questions every morning when I am packing up for the day since I normally don't get back to my room until like 10pm and I leave at 6:30am. This is definitely something that I will be emphasizing with my leadership campers and something that I will continue to live by.

  5. I think my favorite is "Make a camper feel special". I think if a girl is having a rough day, just doing something little like letting her do a "special" job can really have a big impact in showing that you care and want her to know that she is special!
    Also, Flubber. Because it's flubber.
